Barb uses Heavy Duty Ground Cover to prevent weeds in the non-growing seasons. It works a lot better than basic weed barrier / landscape fabric. She just rolled it off this weekend to reveal rich, clean soil ready for planting! Check a local garden center, FarmTek, or Amazon for the good stuff.
Update: Other veggies coming up quickly! Lettuces look delicious.

Barb just planted: yukon, pontiac and german butter ball potatoes, tonda and little finger carrots, radish, turnips, scallions, and beets. Sun shining down bright today! =)
